These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of GatangaJobs (“GatangaJobs”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using the GatangaJobs platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

GatangaJobs is an online employment platform serving Murang’a County, Kenya, designed to connect employers and job seekers through job listings, applications, and candidate profiles.

1. Eligibility

To use GatangaJobs, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Provide accurate and truthful information

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms

By using the platform, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

2. Nature of the Platform

GatangaJobs is a facilitation platform only. We:

  • Do not employ job seekers

  • Do not guarantee job placement

  • Do not verify or endorse employers or candidates

  • Are not a party to any employment agreement formed through the platform

All hiring decisions, employment terms, and workplace obligations are the sole responsibility of employers and job seekers.

3. User Accounts

a) Job Seekers

Job seekers may create profiles, upload information, apply for jobs, and generate CVs using platform tools. You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and lawful.

b) Employers

Employers may create accounts to post job vacancies and review applications. Employers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and legitimacy of all job postings.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity conducted under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information

  • Advertise illegal, discriminatory, or exploitative jobs

  • Collect or misuse personal data obtained through the platform

  • Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users

  • Attempt to interfere with platform security or functionality

  • Use the platform for purposes unrelated to employment or recruitment

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Job Listings and Applications

  • Job listings are publicly visible and managed by employers.

  • Applications submitted through GatangaJobs are shared only with the relevant employer.

  • GatangaJobs does not control or influence recruitment outcomes.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of job listings or applications.

6. CVs and User Content

Users retain ownership of the content they submit, including CV data and profile information. By submitting content, you grant GatangaJobs a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content for platform operation and recruitment purposes.

You agree not to upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates the law, or breaches third-party rights.

7. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of GatangaJobs is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data. By using the platform, you consent to data processing as described in that policy.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the platform without prior notice if:

  • These Terms are violated

  • Fraudulent or abusive behaviour is detected

  • The platform is misused or compromised

  • Required by law or regulation

Users may request account deletion at any time, subject to data retention obligations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • GatangaJobs is not liable for employment outcomes, disputes, or losses arising from platform use

  • We are not responsible for employer conduct, job conditions, or candidate performance

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation

Use of the platform is at your own risk.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GatangaJobs from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:

  • Your use of the platform

  • Content you submit

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Breach of applicable laws or third-party rights

11. Third-Party Links

The platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. GatangaJobs does not control or endorse these sites and is not responsible for their content or practices.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, including applicable data protection and employment-related regulations.
