MMFH/O – HR/BD/01/2026 – SENIOR MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – 1 POSITION
Muungano Microfinance Bank Plc is the fastest growing Microfinance Bank; licensed and
Regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya under the microfinance Act, 2006 to offer inclusive
financial services in Kenya. Currently, priding itself with five physical branches across Murang’a
County and digital platforms serving the rest of the country and beyond, the Bank is looking at
making physical presence in other counties starting with Nairobi County in the very near future.
We are looking at filling the position of Senior Manager, Business Development in January, 2026
as detailed below:
The Position: Senior Manager, Business Development, Head Office
This is a senior position based at the Bank’s Head Office, entrusted with overseeing the Business
Development function and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer
The Job:
The job will entail:
1) Strategic Plans:
• Revision of the Lending Policy, Loan process flow and Credit Administration Manual to
align with market and regulatory changes.
• Research and Development of new products and services to address changing economic
trends and customer consumption behavior
• Development and spearheading Market Penetration Strategies for new stations, functions
and products
• Implementation of Marketing strategies to deliver business development budget
• Oversight and evaluation of the business development team’s performance.
• Review loan applications from different branches to ensure adherence with the relevant
policies, approval limits etc.
• Ensure quality loan portfolio is maintained and due process is followed in the management
of delinquent loans.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
▪ CPA Part II is an added advantage
▪ Have at least four years’ relevant work experience in a Microfinance Institution or
Commercial Bank at management level.
▪ Thorough knowledge of the financial sector/Microfinance Act, Industry policies and
regulatory
▪ Must have experience in interacting with a core banking management information system
and fully understand its functions, related risks, and mitigation.
▪ Good people management skills and evidence of managing high performing teams.

Terms of Service
The Senior Development Manager will serve on contract for a period of three years that is
renewable subject to satisfactory performance. The position attracts a competitive remuneration.
